I recently started back up on my sock after an initial mishap with the heel turn. Suffice it to say that trying to watch TV and doing something new don't go together.
I messed up my short row on the heel turn by not working enough stitches. I didn't fully realize that for a few turns. Then I tried to fix it and messed that up. So I put it away to decide what to do.
I reviewed Knit Fix book, great book, and placed a smaller needle a few rows below where I made that error to hold the stitches, then I ripped back and tried again.
Being a new knitter, I found it hard to get the placeholder needle in the correct stitches, but after two times I got it. Nothing like learning something new!
My second attempt at the heel turn went well and I even got through picking up stitches on the heel flap and started on the gussett. Then I dropped a stitch while decreasing and in trying to fix that, I dropped some more.
Ugh! I walkked away for awhile and thought how to handle it. I think I've got a plan. I'll try it out and report back.
On another note, I'm composing this entry on my new Droid smartphone. It's pretty slick!
