Inspiration: Flowers

I'm looking for inspiration for a quilt. I've got a few quilt challenges and not enough time to do a big quilt, so I thought I'd do a quilt that was no bigger than 24" square.

I also bought a new camera, a Nikon Coolpix L20, that is really neat. I bought it to help with my quilting, especially for quilt class as it is very small.

It will also help with buying fabric as I can take a black and white photo to see if the contrast is right.

At any rate, this picture of flowers was taken tonight outside of Jaleo in Crystal City, VA.

I like how the flowers flow from one corner to the next.

Another video blog that I put together from a friend's surprise birthday party that was organized by the celebrant's daughter. Hopefully it'll brighten your day!

Feeding Fritz and Freda

A little video blog for you as that's all I got!
This is me feeding my brother's family's cats, Fritz and Freda. Normally, Freda is a scaredy cat and hides when people show up. I guess she's gotten used to me.

This is shot with my new Nikon Coolpix L20 camera. Very nice and portable! I got it to take to quilting classes, etc. when I don't want to lug my big camera around.

Meeting Mark Lipinski!

Ok. So two weeks ago I had a class with Mark Lipinski of Quilter's Home Magazine. Yes, that's Mark hiding behind me! Behind us is my quilt!

The class was a mystery quilt class. Meaning we didn't know what the pattern was. We had a list of fabric we needed (light, medium, and dark) and instructions for the initial cutting. Once all of this is packaged up, we take ourself, sewing machine, and fabric to class.

I had a great time at the class, which was at the Quilters Unlimited annual quilt show.

It was the first class where I finished the all of the blocks and was able to layout my quilt on a design wall (thanks Lisa!).

Here's the picture sans people!
I've got to work on rearranging a few blocks to balance things out. Otherwise, its done. Unless I want to add more blocks.
